The initiative, launched by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), provides fully funded scholarships to talented individuals from developing nations, including Pakistan. Selected candidates can complete their Master’s or PhD degrees at some of South Korea’s leading universities.
For 2025, KOICA plans to award 109 scholarships, covering all major expenses such as round-trip airfare, full tuition fees, monthly living allowances, accommodation, and health insurance. Recipients will also receive support upon arrival in South Korea and a grant when they complete their studies.
According to the program guidelines, Master’s degrees will take about 17 months, while PhD programs will span 36 months.
One of the key eligibility criteria is that applicants must be government officials officially nominated by their respective departments. Additionally, candidates must be under 40 years of age, in good health, and have a strong command of English, as courses are conducted in English.
For Master’s programs, applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree along with at least two years of relevant work experience. Those applying for PhD scholarships must already have a Master’s degree and several years of professional experience after graduation.
The application deadline is 31 July 2025, and eligible Pakistani candidates are encouraged to prepare their documents and apply as soon as possible.
This scholarship aims to empower young professionals with global education and leadership skills, enabling them to return to Pakistan as contributors to national development in diverse fields.
