Islamabad: Mobile users across Pakistan are in for a special treat on June 20, 2025, as a nationwide offer will grant 2GB of free internet data and 200 free on-net minutes for 24 hours. The offer is accessible to customers of all major networks — including Jazz, Zong, Ufone, and Telenor — and can be activated by dialing *2200# from any mobile phone.
But that’s not all — the initiative goes beyond just free data.
As part of a broader digital inclusion campaign, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is rolling out additional efforts to improve internet accessibility, particularly for students and women. Selected universities recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) will receive free Wi-Fi hotspots for a period of six months, with a special emphasis on women’s universities. The official list of participating institutions will be published via PTA’s social media platforms.
In parallel, students at these institutions may also benefit from smartphone distribution programs to help bridge the digital divide.
The campaign is backed by key players in the telecom and broadband sectors, including PTCL, Cybernet, Transworld, Nayatel, Wateen, and local members of Pakistan’s mobile manufacturing industry. The goal is to enhance digital access nationwide and empower underserved communities, especially students and women.
With millions set to benefit, June 20 marks more than just free internet — it represents a step toward a more connected and inclusive digital future for Pakistan.
