Lahore: Pakistan Railways is set to roll out a state-of-the-art business train service on July 19, aiming to transform the passenger experience with modern amenities and premium facilities.
The new service will feature 28 digitally equipped coaches, offering complimentary Wi-Fi and an international-standard dining car designed to deliver high-quality meals onboard.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will officially inaugurate the train in Lahore, highlighting the government’s commitment to modernizing the country’s rail network and making rail travel more comfortable and competitive.
Key features of the upgrade include digital ticketing, enhanced onboard services, and improved station facilities, all aimed at boosting passenger satisfaction and reviving public trust in the railway system.
Pakistan Railways is also taking steps to improve operational efficiency by outsourcing the commercial management of selected services. This strategy has already paid dividends, with the department generating over Rs. 3.95 billion from luggage and brake van services in the past three years.
Officials say these initiatives represent a major shift toward modernization, designed to make train travel a more viable, attractive, and efficient option for commuters and business travelers alike.
