Swat: At least 11 people have lost their lives in Swat after flash floods, triggered by continuous heavy rainfall, swept through the region, causing widespread destruction and panic. The Swat River overflowed its banks, inundating nearby areas and leaving many stranded or missing.
Rescue teams have so far recovered two bodies, while intensive search operations are underway in badly affected localities such as Fiza Gat, Bypass, Manyar, and Khwazakhela. In a particularly tragic incident at Fiza Gat, 10 tourists, including women and children, were reportedly swept away by the raging waters.
The area has seen uninterrupted downpours over the past two days, severely complicating rescue and relief efforts. Authorities have issued a high alert across Swat, warning both residents and visitors to exercise extreme caution and avoid riversides or flood-prone zones.
Officials are urging people to remain vigilant as the weather department forecasts continued rain, increasing the risk of further flooding and landslides. Emergency services, local administration, and volunteers remain on standby to assist those affected.
